Running Music Playlists
Many runners want to listen to music when they run but don’t have time to create the perfect playlist. We’ve created running music playlists categorized by BPM ranges from very slow (160 – 165 BPM) to all-out sprinting (185 – 190+ BPM). Running to a musical beat helps you keep your cadence in your desired range so you don’t run too slow on speed work days or too fast on recovery days.
How to Get Started
- Decide what kind of workout you want to do (recovery run, tempo run, long run, etc).
- Choose the level that matches your workout. (Level 1 is super-slow while Level 6 is lightning-fast.)
- Put on your headphones, find a road or a trail and start running.
Playlist BPM Ranges
- Level 1: 160-165 BPM
- Level 2: 165-170 BPM
- Level 3: 170-175 BPM
- Level 4: 175-180 BPM
- Level 5: 180-185 BPM
- Level 6: 185-190+ BPM
