Running Music Playlists

Many runners want to listen to music when they run but don’t have time to create the perfect playlist. We’ve created running music playlists categorized by BPM ranges from very slow (160 – 165 BPM) to all-out sprinting (185 – 190+ BPM). Running to a musical beat helps you keep your cadence in your desired range so you don’t run too slow on speed work days or too fast on recovery days.

How to Get Started

  1. Decide what kind of workout you want to do (recovery run, tempo run, long run, etc).
  2. Choose the level that matches your workout. (Level 1 is super-slow while Level 6 is lightning-fast.)
  3. Put on your headphones, find a road or a trail and start running.

Playlist BPM Ranges

We provide links to both Spotify and Apple Music. Just tap on a link to go to the playlist on that platform. If you’d like us to create playlists on another music platform, send us a request and we’d be happy to look into it. Read more about how to use the playlists.

We’re adding new playlists regularly so check back often!
